What a great first day at Central Woodlands! It was wonderful getting to know some Rangers and starting to apply creative problem solving skills and collaboration skills in the art room. Fifth graders used the sheet featured below to review four of the elements of design and create a mini masterpiece. Some of them were interested in trying more at home and asked me to post a copy of they sheet.
The sixth graders collaborated on solving the following design challenge: Work as a group to use 5 cardstock cards to create one balanced sculpture that is interesting from all sides. No glue can show. They reflected on what worked and what did not work. They will build on what they learned next week to create a collaborative sculpture.
