Posters and fliers are everywhere!!! You have about 1.5 seconds to capture someone's attention with your poster, so it has to be outstanding How can you make yours stand out from the rest and actually get people to read the information you are presenting? Below are some tips from designshack.net
2. USE CONTRAST You have one glance to grab someone’s attention with a poster. High contrast between elements can help you do that. Think about bold color contrast and a limited color pallet.
1. MAKE IT EASY TO READ FROM A DISTANCE The image or graphic should be clean simple and eye catching The most important text information should be easy to read from a distance to draw someone in The supporting details can be smaller but still clear text.
3. Think about size and location This is important: Where is your poster going to be located? This factors in several ways, including the size of the poster , visual clutter around the poster and will the people who see it appreciate your call to action?
4. Use one big image Whether you choose a photo, illustration or text, a dominant image is key. And just like the text, it needs to be readable from a distance.
5. LESS IS MORE Don't clutter your poster with too many colors, images or text. You are better off to limit your design to one clever image or font.
If you would like to use the app PicCollage to make your poster, here is a tutorial from another art project, but it will show you the basics.
