Fifth graders are building the career readiness skills of collaboration, creative problems solving and communication, while thoughtfully applying the elements of art to create action packed nonobjective paintings in groups. Check out the video below to see them in action. 6th graders are off and running in the art room at Central Woodlands. Their first design challenge was as follows: Criteria- Work as a group to use 5 cards to create one balanced sculpture that is interesting from all sides. Constraints: No Glue Showing No tape They discovered lots of things that work when constructing a cardboard sculpture and some things that don't work. They will apply their learning along with some new construction techniques to create a sculpture inspired by the artist Jean Dubuffet as their first official art project of 2018. |
