EMPATHIZE
Who are you designing this website for? What are their needs and wants when navigating your website? |
DEFINE
Clearly state the design challenge and why it is important: We are designing a website to teach west Michigan Families about pesticide and fertilizer runoff so that they can care for their lawn more responsibly. |
IDEATE
Quickly brainstorm a variety of layout ideas including color schemes etc... For Example: how many pages will you have on your site? How will you organize them? Will you use a slide show or gallery for images? |
PROTOTYPE
Condense your ideas and draft on paper first. Then, build your website, without importing all images and text. Create the layout first. Then, Test with peers and make changes as necessary |
TEST
Share your progress with members of your target market and get feedback so you can improve your design. |

|
1. Create a folder in your google drive.
2. Share the folder with any group members so they can add images as well. 3. Select the image of interest and check the resolution. It should be higher than 600 X 600. 4. Double tap the navigation pad on your chromebook with two fingers. Select "save image as." 5. Select "Google Drive" and then open the folder you just created. 6. Rename the image so you will be able to find it easily. 7. Select save. NOTE: It is a good idea to credit your image source. You should start a google doc with the image address and name so that you can credit the artist in your website. Many people skip this step, but if you were publishing you website for a very large audience the artist would want credit for using their image. |
