Pop Art Inspiration: Art inspired by modern popular culture and everyday objects. The artwork shows these things in new ways by changing the color, size, or location.
Andy Warhol makes people think about art in a whole new way. He created screen prints of ordinary objects and familiar images and displayed them as works of art. He often made multiple prints in different colors and displayed them next to one another.
Claes Oldenburg takes everyday normal sized objects and enlarges them as giant public sculptures.
LEARNING TARGETS: I can create a work of food pop art inspired by Andy Warhol or Claes Oldenburg using a reference image to draw from.
I can create a work of pop are that will print well both large and small. I can use choose materials that are best suited for my subject and ones that will translate well into print.

If you chose Andy Warhol for inspiration, fold your rough draft paper into fourths. Draw your to fill one fourth of your rough draft it by breaking it down into shapes being careful to maintain proportions.
If you chose Claes Oldenburg you must fill your final draft paper with your subject by breaking it down into shapes being careful to maintain proportions.
4. Show your rough draft image to a trusted peer who you know will give you honest specific feedback to improve your work. 5. Trace your rough draft onto your final draft paper using a pencil. Use a window to see your lines if necessary. If you chose Warhol, DO NOT fold your final draft paper. Trace your rough draft image into each corner onto your final draft. *see video3. 4. On the top of the back of your final draft paper, use a PENCIL to write your first and last name, grade and homeblock teacher. 5. You may choose to outline your drawing in black sharpie, colored sharpie or crayon. You may outline in crayola marker , so long as you do not plan on using watercolor on your final draft. DO NOT COLOR IN SHAPES USING CRAYOLA OR SHARPIE MARKER 6. You may color in your subject using crayon or use watercolor where you see fit. Use crayon to block out areas where you do not want watercolor to go, such as highlights. 7. Use the color wheel to determine a background color that will make your subject "pop". You may use crayon, or watercolor to fill in the background. * see the video for a demonstration on this.
