1. Select a reference image and break it down into basic shapes
2. Practice drawing it lightly on your rough draft paper. Do not draw your main subject much larger than your hand, as the whole subject will have to be filled in in sharpie. 3. Check your proportions (are the shapes and sizes correct?) and composition (does it fill the page in a pleasing way?) with 3 peers 4. You may trace your rough draft onto your final draft paper or redraw it lightly 5. Check in with a trusted peer before moving on. 6. Outline and fill in your image with solid permanent marker. 7. Choose analogous colors on the color wheel. Practice on a scrap of paper to be sure you like them and can get a smooth gradient in crayon or watercolor. 8. Use analogous colors to fill in the negative space around your image. |
